HANDSPINNING: HOW TO START with Jennifer Folsom

Saturday, June 27th , 1PM – 4PM (Adults 18+)

This workshop offers a welcoming introduction to the timeless craft of handspinning. Explore the quiet transformation of fiber into yarn through twist, drafting, and plying while controlling thickness, consistency, and troubleshooting common issues. Students will be introduced to several beginner-friendly tools and traditional techniques, including drop spindles, improvised spindles, and thigh spinning.

By the end of the workshop, each participant will leave with handspun yarn samples and the foundational skills needed to continue spinning at home.

All materials and tools provided, but students can bring spinning equipment if they want.
